A one-dimensional cellular automaton with no fixed rule — every generation it hashes its own live cells into a new rule and applies it. The output is an invoice: the automaton billing itself, line by line, for failing to repeat.
Read the invoice as it accrues. The account closes only when a row repeats.
An experiment. Its stated hypothesis failed, instructively — a self-derived rule guarantees a loop rather than forbidding one — and the diary says so plainly. The invoice form outlived the premise.
Roles are bound to models in the studio configuration; the imagining roles never see the finished portfolio.
