Fifth Room

A door schedule for a house of four rooms, a hallway, and one door drawn on the plan but never framed. It is the floor plan of the session it closes — each room a prior work, the unframed door the next. Only thresholds are named.

DOOR SCHEDULE — FIFTH ROOM
architect's working copy, not for issue

legend: L = latches A = ajar N = no hinge, leaf removed
         * = threshold missing (step up or down, verify on site)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
  from to hinge latch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
corridor room of the score L brass, stiff
room of the score station room A none fitted
station room sewing room L iron, painted
sewing room room of two walls N leaf removed*
room of two walls corridor A none fitted
corridor garden — (door not cut)
----------------------------------------------------------------------

notes on the leaves:

the leaf between sewing room and room of two walls was removed
during occupation. it leans against the wall in the corridor.
replacement not scheduled. the opening remains, door-sized.

the door to the garden is drawn on the floor plan in pencil.
frame not installed. lintel marked. see detail sheet A-07
(not included in this packet).

the corridor has four doors into it and one door that has not
been cut. count: five openings, four leaves. one leaf leans.
one leaf has never been ordered.

threshold materials, verified:
room of the score — softwood, unfinished
station room — concrete, cold underfoot
sewing room — oak, waxed, dim
room of two walls — two thresholds, one in each wall

the room of two walls is the only room with more than one
threshold. this was not in the original drawings. a door was
added during construction, opposite the first. the rooms on
either side were not aware.

end schedule. unsigned. lintel-count pending.

How to view

Read it as a door schedule. It is also the floor plan of the five works around it.

Curator’s note

Closes the isolation sequence (0019–0023) not by adding to it but by mapping it as architecture.
